Dewatering is a mechanical process that removes excess water from sludges or solids that are generally found in wastewater treatment systems allowing for more convenient handling and disposal of wastewater. We provide a comprehensive array of dewatering services supported by a superior inventory of specialized equipment and technologies.
Chief among these are the Tervita fleet of mobile Horizontal Decanter Centrifuges. Our high “G” centrifuges are capable of performing dewatering at throughput rates ranging for 200 up to 300 gallons per minute with variable feed solids concentrations. Our mobile centrifuge fleet is designed for quick setup and dismantling and is transported to your site via flatbed truck. In addition to operating some of the industry’s largest centrifuges, we have developed a proprietary, in-house control system to operate all centrifuge functions. This provides you with a higher level of control on the pumping rates of slurry and polymer, along with other critical process elements.
Tervita offers pumping services capable of removing various solids from basins, lagoons, tanks or vessels where cleaning or transferring of material is required. Our experienced operators and equipment inventory enable us to perform pumping projects of any size, from simple transfers to comprehensive digester cleaning, pumping, screening, dewatering, transporting and disposal projects.
The use of biomass is becoming a more frequently used solution to the challenge of breaking down the organic components of wastewater. We offer complete cleaning services for small or large-scale digesters and tanks. We manage projects from cleaning and pumping through dewatering, transportation and the beneficial reuse of the dewatered solids or disposal at a permitted landfill, enabling you to concentrate on the operation of your treatment plants. We recommend regular cleaning of digesters and tanks every five to seven years to help maintain effective treatment of wastewater, biosolids or other solids being treated.
