Bioremediation Services

Strategically Located, State-Of-The-Art Facilities

Bioremediation is an innovative process that uses naturally occurring microorganisms to break down contaminants or hazardous substances found in soil and transforms it into harmless products such as carbon dioxide and water. This process of bio-degradation is one that occurs naturally, over time.

Remediating soils contaminated with hydrocarbons or other chemicals is an operational hurdle many energy producers encounter.

Our Bioremediation facilities are designated to handle hydrocarbon contaminated soils in lined treatment cells. These cells are designed to divert water run-off within the cell, manage the collected water, then treat or dispose of it accordingly. Tervita’s facilities ensure that contaminated soil is handled in an economically and environmentally sound fashion.

Impacted soils that meet treatment criteria are treated and then managed as per the presiding regulatory requirements. In some cases, treated soils are placed in the adjacent landfill based on the landfill authorizations and internal policies.

We operate 14 state-of-the-art Bioremediation facilities across Canada.
