Position Summary:

The Field Sales Representative position is responsible for a variety of duties needed to support our teams in obtaining business in our various markets. 

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with company management, staff, and clients to identify and develop new clients and projects for the Waste Services group.
  • Manage sales activities throughout Manitoba and Northern Ontario out of the Winnipeg office.
  • Engage with all Tervita service lines in the region.
  • Extensive Business travel (approximately 65%+) to various locations in Manitoba and Northern Ontario.
  • Leading the preparation and submission of proposals and quotations.
  • Collecting market data to help identify new opportunities.
  • Representing Tervita at tradeshows and conferences.
  • Prepare and present Lunch and Learn topics to existing and new clients.
  • Helping to develop new market strategies.
  • Remain up to date on relevant industry regulations and trends.
  • Promote our commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment and help differentiate Tervita from our competitors.
  • Engage in site visits to promote our safety culture and to take pictures for marketing materials.

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • 2-4 years in the waste services industry and experience with sales, business development, and client relations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required.
  • Self-Starter and the ability to time manage a large territory.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting quotation and bid proposals would be an asset.
  • An understanding of waste services opportunities & operations
